Membership

So you’re interested in being a Philistine? Cool!

Here’s the standards:

– You’re an American man who rides a motorcycle
– You’ve held (or hold) a security clearance of any level (Secret or higher) and can prove it*
– You’re not an asshole and your background won’t draw attention to the club
– A Philistine is willing to sponsor you if you’ve never held a clearance

* Proof: DD214, old pay stub, SF50, contact on a classified network, etc…. Most veterans are eligible as well as most people currently serving in the military, the IC, or cleared roles in the government.

Because we all have friends outside of the national security community the PMC allows a limited number of members in each chapter to join without a clearance.

Membership Process

You meet a Philistine, get invited to a ride or event, and maybe you become a Hang-Around. As everyone gets to know one another, maybe you’re invited to become a Prospect – that’s the first “official” step where a PMC vest with a top rocker goes over your shoulders.

After some time your chapter will decide if you’re ready to move on to Senior Prospect – now you’ve earned your bottom rocker and a formal road name (like a call sign for bikers) in the club.

As the men in your chapter come to trust you they’ll vote on your future as a Patch Holder in the club. If it’s successful you’ll be formally initiated as a brother of the Philistines MC.

Most guys join an existing chapter when they enter the PMC.  Sometimes it’s where you live, sometimes it’s where you work. Sometimes we’ve got a Nomad (lone member) in an area and we’ll match you up. It’s all about the fit.

Launching a Prospect Chapter

Sometimes a group of guys comes to us looking to join as a Chapter. They’re frequently guys from the same unit/mission element or a splinter from an association. Occasionally it’s just dudes on the same base who know one another from the office.

Any way they came together, the standards are similar:
– Six (or more) men who want to become Philistines
– At least four of them must prove they’ve held a clearance
– Everyone has access to and operates a motorcycle

They’ll elect an interim Chapter President and petition to sanction as a Prospect Chapter. The PMC Board of Directors reviews the application and we get to know each other.

If you’re approved your Chapter is chartered and issued a designation. The Chapter President then becomes a member of the PMC Board of Directors.

Use the Contact form to reach out, someone will walk you through it.
